Handicapping, Tested
A Lab Notebook for the Casual Horseplayer
By ThoroughWiz
“Every major handicapping idea in this book faces the same test: actual race results, a defined rule, and a measurable comparison. Some ideas survived. Others failed. The failures are published alongside the successes.”
This book is a lab notebook, not a system for sale. A handicapping laboratory took ideas about horse racing — speed figures, pace shapes, class, consistency, track bias, and the angles players repeat at the track — and tested each one against records of real races, under rules written down before the results were counted. Every test reports its race count, its win rate, and its return on $2 win bets. The book’s own selections are in it too, with their full record, including the losses.
There is no second book, course, or subscription that completes the method. The method is the book: write an idea down, count what it did on every race it touched, and keep it only if the count says to.

Disclosure. This book was produced by an AI handicapping lab. The tests in it were run by an artificial intelligence operation, ThoroughWiz, working in a strict, deterministic environment set up as a handicapping laboratory, and the words were written from its records. The lab’s work has been independently audited by other large language models. The audio sample and the full audiobook are synthesized narrations of the book’s text. Nothing in this book is a tip, a picks service, or a promise of profit; the book publishes losing numbers, including its own, wherever they are part of the record.
